LET IT GO
Some think it's holding on that makes one strong; sometimes it's letting go. Sylvia Robinson
Letting go of something you've been hanging on to can be one of the best things to free yourself from both physical and emotional baggage. Most people have one or more things they continue to keep long past the point of usefulness.
What is it for you? Old clothes, no longer worn? Junk in that kitchen drawer? A garage full of unused items? A job you've grown to dislike? A relationship that doesn't work despite much effort to improve it? Negative thoughts? Prejudices? Self-criticism? Resentment over things that happened in the past? Worry about the future?
Ask yourself if that thing you'd like to get rid of but keep holding on to is now, or will in the future be, a source of enrichment. If the answer is no then you know what to do.
Sometimes people hold on to something out of laziness or an effort to choose the path of least resistance. But fear is one of the most common reasons they don't let go. Change can be scary. You wonder if something bad will happen. Such fear can keep you stuck.
Be assured that if you release something that has a negative presence in your life you will be better off. Start with something small. Give those old clothes to a charity. Throw out a few items that won't be missed a year from now. As you begin to rid your life of unneeded material items you will start to see a way to banish the emotional negativity as well.
Carrying unnecessary baggage makes life's journey difficult when it needn't be. Free yourself to live your best life.
