                                              THE ROAD TO HEALTH

Do you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, obesity or cancer?

Do you feel tired, weak or depressed some, if not much, of the time?

There is strong research evidence to indicate that a vegetarian diet of whole, fresh foods is conducive to good health.

This evidence has been around for a long time but most of us have not been made aware of it.  We have spent our lives eating the typical western diet of meats, dairy products, sugar and processed foods.

In a number of societies throughout the world the people consume mainly a whole-food, plant-based diet.  Their incidence of high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, cancer, Alzheimer's and obesity is very low, and the people lead long and healthy lives.  If those same people, or their children, move to the west and begin eating our modern diet, they develop our chronic diseases.

These conditions, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, etc. have been termed "diseases of affluence".  As societies develop more technology and wealth they often move away from plant-based eating and start consuming more animal products.  This dietary change has been shown to be detrimental to health.

There are many easily-available resources to help you learn about the health benefits of eating a whole-food, plant-based diet.  Here are but a few to get you started.
