STAY OUT OF MY ER, A Doctor's Guide to Avoiding the Emergency Room
Marlene Buckler, MD, FACEP
Printer-Friendly Format

Hi, My name is Dr. Marlene Buckler.  I am an emergency physician in Florida, USA.

Have you ever been to an  emergency room (ER)?  Do you wish you could have stayed home?  Would you like to minimize the chances you'll have to go again?

Do you want to be able to see the inside workings of an emergency room without having to go to one? Would you like to be able to tap into the wisdom of the ER doctor from the comfort of your own home?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, STAY OUT OF MY ER is just the website for you.

Over the years, practicing in the emergency room, I have noticed that many patients who come to us either could have stayed home or could have lived their lives in such a way as to lessen the chances they would have to come to an emergency room

Don't get me wrong, emergency rooms serve a vital function in our lives. It would be difficult to imagine modern society without these life-saving departments in our hospitals.  But not everything is a true emergency and many health problems can be dealt with in ways other than going to an emergency room.

The goal of this website is to provide you with useful information that may help you to be better prepared to know when you, your children or loved ones should or should not go to an emergency room. You will also learn ways to live a healthy life style and thereby avoid many of the problems that result in ER visits. Through humor, tips, stories of actual emergency room cases, blogs and discussion forums you will be able to go into the ER without leaving your home.

The website is just being set up so I hope to have some useful information for you soon.
